Action to take prior to travel

Use this checklist to prepare for your international business trip

Staying safe and healthy during international travel requires additional planning and preparation. Use this checklist to make sure you’re equipped to handle health issues that may arise during travel.

Obtain your MBA Certificate of Coverage, if necessary. NOTE THAT THIS IS A NEW PROCESS.
Remember, the MBA plan applies if you are on a work assignment of 180 days or less and in a country of which you are not a permanent resident.
Certificates of Coverage are not guaranteed and cannot be generated using the self-service tool if travel date is within 24 hours from the date of the request. To ensure certificates are received prior to your required travel, please initiate all requests no later than 48 hours from the anticipated travel date.

Dependents are not eligible for benefits under the MBA program.

To obtain the MBA Certificate of Coverage:

  • Go to cignaenvoy.com. Review the Cigna Envoy Registration Guide.
  • Login using the username: 05679AMBA and the password: Cigna1
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions to continue.
  • Select the Certificate of Coverage link.
  • Read the Self-Service Terms of Use and accept them to continue.
  • On the next page, you will need to enter the following:

          - Traveler's first name

           - Traveler's last name

           - Date of birth

           - Date of departure from home country

           - Date of return to home country

           - Location traveling to (choose the country from the drop-down menu)

  • Download the certificate.     

A Certificate of Coverage is not a guarantee of payment. Any payment of benefits is subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions contained in your coverage plan documents.

In addition to obtaining your Certificate of Coverage, before you leave, also:

Access the Intl.SOS website to review the country guides for details about health and safety risks
For unfamiliar destinations where there may be medical risks, consider:
  • Calling Intl.SOS for pre-trip health guidance.
  • Asking Intl.SOS how they would recommend you acquire transport to a hospital for a serious or life-threatening emergency.

Before you leave, make sure you have:

The Intl.SOS app downloaded on your phone
The Intl.SOS phone numbers and member number (ICPA984)
A printed copy of your Intl.SOS member card in you case your phone is lost or inoperable
