We are thrilled that you've joined the Baker Hughes team! As you begin your career here, you’ve got a lot to do. So, we want to make getting your benefits started as easy as possible. This webpage has information to help you enroll in your benefits. 

You must enroll in your benefits within 31 days of your date of hire. The benefits you choose will be in effect as of your date of hire.

You must enroll in both your 2019 AND 2020 benefits. Read this guide for information about enrolling in your benefits for both years.

If you have questions about your Baker Hughes benefits, call the Baker Hughes Benefits Center at 1-866-244-3539. They are available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST.

New Hire Checklist

Here’s a benefits checklist to help you keep everything straight as you enroll in your benefits. 

  • Choose coverage for you and your family. 
  • Enroll in your benefits. See the left-hand menu for links to the enrollment tools.
  • Enroll or waive coverage within 31 days of your date of hire.
  • Make sure you have your dependents' Social Security numbers handy—they're required to enroll your dependents.
  • Confirm your elections. For your Health & Protection benefits, you will automatically receive an emailed confirmation statement and a confirmation statement will also be mailed to your home address on file for your records. If you find any errors, contact the Baker Hughes Benefits Center immediately. For the 401(k) Plan, you can print a copy of your confirmation statement after enrolling.
  • If you don’t take action, you will be automatically enrolled in the following coverages:
    - Standard Medical Plan (Employee Only coverage)
    - Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
    - Short-Term and Core Long-Term Disability Protection
    - 401(k) Plan at a pre-tax contribution rate of 3% of your eligible pay with an automatic increase of 1% annually, invested in the Moderate Style Fund

    You will not be able to make changes to your Health & Protection benefits until the next Annual Enrollment period, unless you experience a Qualified Status Change (like having a baby or getting married). You can change your 401(k) contribution at any time.
