24/7 access to physicians.
If you enroll in a UHC Medical plan, you have 24/7 access to physicians through Virtual Visits, UHC’s telemedicine program.
A virtual visit lets you see and talk to a doctor from your mobile device or computer. When you use one of the provider groups in UHC’s virtual visit network (BHGE: what is the network?), you have benefit coverage for certain nonemergency medical conditions like the flu, cold, pink eye, rashes and fevers.
The first time you use a Virtual Visit provider, you’ll need to set up an account with that Virtual Visit provider group. You’ll need to complete the patient registration process to gather medical history, pharmacy preference, primary care physician contact information and insurance information.
Each time you have a virtual visit:
Your payment for the Virtual Visit at the time of service [BHGE: please confirm: will [will not?] apply toward your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. You can use a credit or debit card to pay, including a Health Savings Account debit card if you have one. If you are enrolled in one of the HSA plans, you will pay less than what you would have paid if you went to an in-person provider visit.
You can use Virtual Visits when your doctor is not available, you become ill while traveling or you are considering an emergency room visit for a routine or non-life-threatening health condition.
With a Virtual Visit, you’ll pay the same amount or less than what you would pay to visit a doctor under your Medical plan option.
